Roughen the outside surface
of the pipe/fitting end to the extent of
the 2 inches on the circumference with coarse
emery paper (sand paper).
Step
2:
Apply thin coat of solvent
cement on roughened surface with brush.
Step
3:
Sprinkle medium size dry
sand on the solvent cement coat and leave
it to dry for few minutes. A rough base
is ready for good bonding with cement.
Step
4:
Insert the solvent cement
base PVC pipe in to the socket of C.I./A.C
& fill the gap with ordinary portland
cement.
Jointing
CI-PVC
Step
1:
For jointing CI into PVC
make rough solvent base on the inside socket
portion of pipe/fitting of PVC as shown
in above figure. Insert CI pipe in PVC pipe/fitting
socket and fill the gap with ordinary portland
cement.
Fixing
PVC Pipe Clips on PVC Pipes
Step
1:
Pipe clip should always
be fixed just below the socket portion and
not on the socket.
Step
2:
For jointing 10ft. pipe
vertically one pipe clip to be fixed just
below the socket and other clip at the centre
of the pipe. i.e. at 5ft distance as shown
in the diagram.
Step
3:
For horizontal fixing of
PVC pipes, pipes clip, should be fixed at
3ft. internal as shown in the diagram.
